Spanish passport holders can visit the UK visa-free for up to 6 months (tourism, business, study up to 30 days). From January 2025 an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is required — apply online at gov.uk/eta, cost £10, valid 2 years with multiple entries. Your airline cannot board you without it.

Iberia (seasonal from MAD T4), Vueling (year-round from MAD T4S), easyJet (occasional), Ryanair (seasonal summer) and Jet2 (peak summer only). Vueling is the most reliable for winter travel. May–September for the best weather (15–20°C, long daylight hours). August for the Edinburgh Fringe and International Festival — the city's biggest cultural event with 3,000+ shows, but book flights 4 months ahead. Avoid January (short days, 4°C, dark by 16:00) unless you're coming for Burns Night (25 January). September/early October is the sweet spot: festival is over, weather holds, crowds thin.
