Who runs this site

CompareFlights.co.uk is owned and operated by TheMediaFlow Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 06769171 — verify on Companies House). The site has been online since 2009 and is run by a small team of travellers, developers and editors based in the UK.

The site is owned and run by Stephen Adds, founder of TheMediaFlow Ltd — a UK-based online publisher who has been running travel and comparison sites since the early 2000s. He oversees the technical build, partnership relationships and the editorial standard the site is held to. Day-to-day editorial work — advice articles, guides and route content — is led by Louisa Lowe, a Cheshire-based UK writer with over twenty years of experience. Author bylines on every advice article point back to her; nothing is published anonymously.

We are independent. We are not owned by an airline, an airport, a hotel chain or a global travel agency, and we have no shareholders pushing us to recommend any particular brand. The only people we answer to are the readers who use the site.

What we actually do

We do two things. We surface live fares from a wide pool of airlines and booking sites so you can see who is cheapest for the route and dates you have in mind, and we publish guides — for every UK airport, every major UK airline and the popular routes flown out of Britain — covering the things you need to know before you book.

The fare data shown across the site is sourced from Travelpayouts, our primary travel affiliate partner, which aggregates inventory from more than 500 airlines and online travel agents. Tour and experience listings are powered by Viator. Adventure tours come via G Adventures. None of those partners influences what we write or which airline we suggest.

How we make money

This site is free to use. We do not charge you to search, read or compare. To pay for hosting, development and the time it takes to keep guides up to date, we earn an affiliate commission when a reader clicks through and books with one of our partners. The price you pay is the same whether you book through us or go direct.

We do also run a small amount of display advertising via Google AdSense on some pages, which contributes towards the cost of hosting and editorial. We block intrusive formats — no pop-ups, no autoplay video, no interstitials — and we do not allow advertisers to influence what we write. UK and EEA visitors can withdraw consent for personalised advertising at any time via the cookie controls in the footer; full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

How our content is written

Every guide on the site is written by a human. We use spreadsheets, fare history, route schedules and our own travel experience to put guides together. We don't republish text scraped from other travel sites or open encyclopaedias — if you read it here, it was written here.

When we say "Manchester to Dublin from £32" or "Heathrow security usually clears in 15 minutes", those numbers come from real fare data and our own observation. Prices change, schedules shift and airports renovate, so we re-check the popular guides at least twice a year. Each page shows when it was last updated.

If you spot something out of date or just plain wrong, please tell us — we'd much rather hear about it than have a reader land on stale advice.

What we don't do

• We don't sell flights. All bookings are completed on partner sites — we never collect your card details, passport numbers or passenger information.
• We don't sell your data. We do not pass reader data to data brokers. The Google AdSense advertising we run is opt-in for personalisation in the UK and EEA — decline the consent prompt and you'll see contextual (non-personalised) ads instead. Either way, no profile of you is built or sold by us.
• We don't accept paid placement. Airlines cannot pay us to appear higher in our recommendations or to remove unflattering coverage.
• We don't write fake reviews. Anything that reads like an opinion is one of ours, formed from data we trust or experience we've had ourselves.

What's coming next

We're rebuilding the site through 2026. The new version adds live fare alerts, a smarter cheapest-month calendar that uses real booking data rather than guesswork, and a much deeper set of airport landing pages — proper editorial guides covering routes, carriers, terminal layouts, and the local quirks every airport has.
