Manchester Airport (MAN) is the UK's third busiest airport and the largest outside London, handling over 29 million passengers per year. It sits 9 miles south of Manchester city centre in Greater Manchester, with direct rail access making it one of the best-connected regional airports in the UK.
The airport operates three terminals. Terminal 2 is currently the main international hub, recently redeveloped as part of the £1.3bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme. Terminal 1 is undergoing significant redevelopment. Terminal 3 handles a mix of domestic and European routes. A free Skylink bus connects all three terminals.
Manchester offers the widest range of long-haul routes outside London, including direct flights to New York, Dubai, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. Carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Virgin Atlantic and United Airlines all operate from T2.
