Flexible-Date Flight Search

Search ±3 days around your ideal dates and see up to 30% knocked off the headline fare. Whole-month views, cheapest-weekend spotting and day-of-week price shift — if your dates are soft, the savings are hard.

Why flexible-date search?

Small date shifts, big savings

📅

±3 day window

Shifting departure or return by one day frequently saves 15–25% on the same route. A Tuesday outbound instead of Friday, a Wednesday return instead of Sunday — often the same airline, same plane, just a different price bucket.

📊

Whole-month view

See the cheapest day in every month at a glance. Useful for booking 3–6 months ahead when airline algorithms still have plenty of cheap inventory and you can pick the price valley.

🎯

Cheapest-month spotting

"Anywhere" searches paired with flexible months surface the best value destinations for your budget. Under £50 to Europe in October, under £300 long-haul in January — mostly off-peak windows with low demand.

Flexible-date FAQs

How much can I really save by shifting my dates?
Typical savings are 15–30% with a ±3 day window on the same route. Bigger swings (whole month flexibility) can save 40–60% by avoiding peak weeks. A Tuesday→Tuesday itinerary instead of Friday→Sunday routinely saves £50–150 on European short-haul and £150–400 on long-haul.
Which days of the week are cheapest to fly?
Tuesday and Wednesday for outbound; Wednesday and Saturday for return. Avoid Friday evening, Sunday afternoon and Monday morning on business routes — those are the premium-priced windows.
Is it cheaper to book further in advance?
For long-haul, yes — 3–5 months ahead is the sweet spot. For short-haul European flights, 1–2 months out is often enough and last-minute deals sometimes appear. Booking 11+ months ahead usually shows inflated placeholder prices because airlines haven't released cheap fare buckets yet.
How do I use a whole-month view?
Our flexible search shows a calendar with the cheapest fare for each day in your target month. Green days are lowest prices, red days are most expensive. Pick any green day in your window — useful when you have 3–6 months of flexibility and want the price valley.
Do flex-date fares have different rules?
No. The fare you book through flexible search has exactly the same rules as the same fare booked on fixed dates — "flex-date" is a search feature, not a fare type. For genuinely flexible tickets (free changes, cancellations) you need "Flexible" fare classes which cost 20–50% more than the cheapest basic economy.
Can I mix flexible outbound with fixed return?
Yes. Set the outbound to ±3 days and lock the return date, or vice versa. Useful if you have to be back on a specific day (event, meeting) but outbound is flexible.
